Cajun Chicken Pasta

Welcome back to the Busy Student Kitchen Blog!

This pasta dish is an absolute staple. It can be very simple to start off but it is such a buildable meal as the opportunities to add to it are endless.

This meal was one of the first I ever cooked after moving out, and 3 years later I still cook it on a regular basis.

You can add many things to this meal to change it up or bulk it out. I have made vegetable Cajun pasta, chorizo Cajun pasta, or even added in some bacon lardons to the chicken pasta. You could add all these extras in separately to create different meals or add it all into the one dish for a delicious array of flavours.

Quick tip for cooking

Utensils.

For this meal, you will need a pot, a frying pan, and a pasta drainer. It is also beneficaial to have some sort of spoon to mix your meal.

Jumping into the recipe:

Step 1: Put your chicken into a pan on a medium heat and coat your chicken in Cajun spice, the more you add the spicier it will be, but Cajun isn’t particularly spicey. Cook the chicken for around 12 minutes or until white all the way through.

Step 2: Put your pasta in the pot and bring to the boil. At this point you could add in any veg you may want.

Step 3: Once your chicken is cooked, add your peppers into the pan and turn down the heat.

Step 4: Add cream and tomato purée to your pan and mix. At this point add in extra Cajun to give your sauce a flavour.

Step 5: Drain your pasta and add it into the pan and mix until fully combined.

Step 6: Plate up and enjoy! At this point you could sprinkle some cheese on top.

Hopefully this was helpful and saved you some time!
